Booth 224
www.niasworldofartanddesign.co.uk

Tina (Nia) Gifford is a multimedia artist and founder of Nia’s World Of Art & Designs, a U.K. based design studio. Tina studied art and design at The University of The Arts, London and moved on to Goldsmith’s, University of London, at a time when her kids had all grown up and her youngest was soon to be on her way to college. This will be ‘Nia’s third year at The Surtex Trade Fair and is looking forward to a more exciting time this year.

‘Nia’ utilizes various media including photography which she loves, paint, shibori, tie-dye and stitch in the creation of surface pattern designs for wall coverings, home interior textiles, apparel textiles (“Art To Wear”) as she prefers to call it and this year extended her small and limited range of gift paper and art for greeting cards, packaging and stationery.

The designs consist of original and a bold mix of color and pattern which plays a major role in her oeuvre. Nia, who is known as the ‘constant gardener’, is known in her neighborhood for her fabulous display of mixed species of flowers and colors in pots and flower beds, which are artfully displayed at both the front and back of her house. It is little wonder, then that her work is informed by nature, in particular flowers, the elements in all their varied moods, her spirituality and her travels worldwide including the Caribbean where she originated.

All design patterns and hand drawings have been digitized in layers in order to allow for their adaptability. Nia’s world Of Art & Designs now moved closer to the front to Booth # 224 and will previewing Spring/Summer 2013 and seasonal and themed collection. She will also be introducing her new 'Farm Yard' Range and her 'Endangered Species ' Bees patterns collection for kids and the home.
